4th Grade Paper Molas: 4 layers cut paper, showing positive space (first picture) or 4 layers cut paper showing negative space (second picture)

Fifth Grade Projects: 1) Graffiti Fences; 2) Clay; 3) Canva Mindmap

5th Grade Graffiti Fence: 1) Glue down 6 1″ by 8″ popsicle sticks onto railroad board horizontally; 2) Practice doing your name in a graffiti style on sketch paper before redrawing onto the sticks; 3) Using acrylic paint, add color, but save outlining for second class. The first layer of color will soon into the wood, the second layer will strengthen the color. You cannot use markers on the wood, as it will “bleed”.

5th Grade: Canva Mindmap

  • Two class periods project. 
  • Go to Canva > “Log in with Google.”
  • Must manipulate (change/alter) fonts, images, layouts, and cover a subject in enough detail that another student would learn about that topic.
  • Post to our Artsonia online art gallery at the end of second class.
